New Year, New Moon

We welcome in this New Year with a new moon in Capricorn, a time to re-evaluate and refresh our goals and intentions.
No need to push the river; give it time to deliver.
No need to rush the process, we’re all a work in progress.

Under the dark of this new moon
I let the quiet fill my room
Waiting for something to bloom
There is no rush, the sun will return soon

I listen to the hush and breathe in the sweet perfume
And wait for Spring to emerge from Winter’s womb
Old grievances can finally go to their tomb
Forgiven and grateful, and cleared by the broom

Of mantra and movement and drawing of runes
Mourning the dreams left in ruins
Singing and sounding a hopeful tune
That inspires the heart to reach toward June
